A Game of Thrones Wedding

A Game of Thrones Wedding

Be the most beautiful bride in the realm with these Game of Thrones inspired wedding touches

Now that the fifth season of Game of Thrones is truly upon us (leaked). There’s another royal wedding on the horizon for House Lannister and there’s bound to be no expense spared when it comes to the richest family in Westeros.

Much of the magic of Game of Thrones lies in the beauty and detail of its costumes, sets, and scenery,  which is why we’ve been thinking about Game of Thrones when it comes to wedding inspiration. No, we’re not suggesting any murders at the reception,  instead we’re thinking about adding a few touches of fantasy to your special day.

Venues

Many of the fictional seven kingdoms of Westeros were inspired by the rolling hills, luscious forests, and general awe inspiring countryside of Great Britain. We’re spoiled for choice when it comes to location. Forests, barns, castles, and medieval villages are ideal locations for conjuring the icy beauty of Winterfell.

If Kings Landing is more your style then you can head straight to stunning Dubrovnik, Croatia, where the capital of the realm is filmed. The bright blue sea, romantic winding roads, and incredible Mediterranean architecture are good enough for Cersei Lannister, are they good enough for you?

Bridal Fashion

Dress like a lady of the south with long, flowing hair with twisted details and a simple crown to show of your elegance and social stature. Enhance your look with a bold necklace if you want to be considered a suitor for whoever’s on the Iron Throne.

3

If you’re more Stark than southern a faux fur shrug can help keep you cosy while you walk down the aisle to meet your King in the North.

Hair

Loose, long curls are fine but if there’s dragon blood running through your veins then elaborate braiding will bring out your inner Daenerys.

Accessories

This is where you can really have fun! You can choose subtle touches like a par of cufflinks or dragon egg table decorations or fully commit and choose a Thrones inspired cake!

5

Our one and only golden rule? Keep Walder Frey off the guest list.
