We count down our top ten celebrity weddings
2014 was a big year for celebrity weddings. There were some long awaited unions, some sensational showstoppers, and other weddings that caught us completely off guard. Whatever your thoughts about the past Weddy year, it’s clear that it was one of love. To honour these couples, we’re counting down the ten most memorable celebrity weddings of 2014.
10. Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross:
The son of singing stunner Diana Ross was married this year to pop star Ashlee Simpson. The pair, who were wed at Diana’s home in Connecticut, had a star-studded event which also included performances from the woman herself.
9. Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka:
How I Met Your Mother was a show like no other about the long road to love. This year one of its most memorable characters, finished his own love story when he married long-time partner, David Burtka in Italy.
8. Lauren Conrad and William Tell:
Lauren Conrad has been America’s sweetheart since she first graced our screens in the MTV show Laguna Beach. Two hit shows and a successful empire later, the not so little lady found her prince charming in lawyer William Tell. The couple were married on September 13th at a Californian Winery.
7. Cheryl Cole and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini
Britain’s Gem Cheryl Cole, has never failed to make a stir and her marriage to French boyfriend Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini was no exception. After just 3-months of dating the couple shocked the world when they announced their marriage in July.
6. Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo:
Hearts around the world broke this year when the lead singer of Maroon 5, Adam Levine tied the knot with 25 year old girlfriend Behati Prinsloo. This stunning couple exchanged vows on July 19th in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
5. Nicole Polizzi and Jionni Lavelle:
Our favourite Jersey girl had to make the list when she married her long time love and father of her two children Jionni Lavelle. The couple had a Great Gatsby themed wedding which was a lavish affair featuring over 500 guests, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from Snooki?
4. Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson:
This was another wedding that caught the world by surprise but the casual and stylish nature of it certainly made it something to talk about. Beyonce’s little sister has had an eventful year but we are sure the highlight of it was her elegant wedding to music video director Alan Ferguson.
3. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West:
This was certainly a memorable event that had the world talking. Though the wedding pictures were never seen, we are sure this union was as spectacular as Kim’s reality TV show suggested. As the most high-profile couple in the world, these two are clearly just at the start of a very interesting relationship.
2. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt:
After a long-term engagement and an even longer relationship people had begun to lose hope that Brangelina would ever get married. However, this year Hollywood’s A-List couple tied the knot in a private ceremony attended by their six children and 20 guests. The intimate affair was much like the couple themselves, classic and elegant.
1. George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin:
This wedding had to be our number one because it was so unexpected. George Clooney was supposed to be our eternal bachelor who vowed never to marry again. However, on September 27th Clooney was a bachelor no more when he tied the knot with human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, sorry ladies!
